Zoe Buckskin: SSP 2 Ambiguous Display
Cradle Board Display 
























 Using 1/8” plywood sheet and cutting out 5 pieces each and gluing together to create a thicker and more stable material to work with.
Creating a cradle board shape out of 3 separate pieces of the layered plywood. Drilling holes for the hide/leather straps, placed for structural function. 
Using two different types of leather that vary in thickness for the strength to fasten object together and design. 
Concept of display as the object appears functional but is for sculptural purposes and wouldn’t realistically wouldn’t hold the weight of baby. Doesn’t include the body straps used to carry the cradle board on the back of a person. 
Research on the function of cradle board and the varying types from nation to nation. Specific designs and symbolism used to represent spiritual meaning behind the structural formation, designs and detailing. 
Sol Lewitt: geometric pattern, wood material, back and white, structural, minimal, conceptual, varying sizes of sculptures and paintings, wooden objects
